What might learning look like at St Mel's...

As learners we acknowledge that we have individual learning styles and needs that assist our personal growth and development. Teaching and Learning needs to cater for all learning needs and provide a framework for a variety of strategies to assist best learning.
Basic Beliefs
At St Mel's we believe that best learning occurs when learners....
  • are actively engaged in a cooperative learning environment
  • are challenged to reach attainable goals
  • are free to experiment and make mistakes
  • see learning as relevant and interesting
  • are in a non threatening environment
  • individual talents are developed to their full potential
  • are given responsibility and leadership roles
  • receive positive and constructive feedback
  • bond positively with a role model
  • are given time to practice and reflect on their learning.
